Bordoodles are known for their wide variety of colors, shapes, sizes, and even coats. But their appearance can range quite a bit compared to other breeds. Below we will go over some of the standards of what you can expect a Bordoodle to look like.
Size Variance
Bordoodles come in a wide range of sizes, it can vary based on the Poodle parent. Bordoodles can be anywhere from 20lbs-80lbs, but more commonly fall around the size of the average Border Collie at 35lbs-45lbs. Height ranges from 15-26 inches averaging out around 18-22 inches.

Bordoodles, being a cross between a Border Collie and a Poodle, can inherit the low-shedding, curly coat of the Poodle. Here's a general idea of what to expect for grooming and maintenance:
# Brushing
- Regular brushing (at least 2-3 times a week) is necessary to prevent matting and tangling.
- Use a slicker brush, pin brush, or a detangling brush depending on the dog's coat type.
# Bathing
- Bordoodles typically require bathing every 4-6 weeks.
- Use a mild dog shampoo and conditioner.
# Trimming
- Depending on the dog's coat type, they may require regular trimming to prevent overgrowth.
- Trimming can be done every 6-8 weeks.
# Nail Care
- Trim the dog's nails every 4-6 weeks to prevent overgrowth.
# Ear Care
- Clean the dog's ears weekly to prevent wax buildup and infections.
# Dental Care
- Brush the dog's teeth daily to prevent tartar buildup and promote good oral health.
# Shedding
- Bordoodles are considered low shedders, but they still shed some.
- Regular brushing can help reduce shedding.
# Professional Grooming
- Depending on the dog's coat type and the owner's preferences, professional grooming may be necessary every 6-8 weeks.
Keep in mind that every dog is different, and grooming needs may vary depending on the individual dog's coat type, lifestyle, and health.
